Word Format (234KB) The Broadcasting Services Act provides that once ACMA directs an ISP or content host to comply with a registered code, they must then do so. This is similar to other codes currently operating in the telecommunications industry and forms the practical operation of what is known as 'co-regulation'. Substantial penalties exist for non-compliance. As an incentive to compliance with these best practice standards, the IIA has introduced the Family Friendly ISP Scheme which provides branding rights (via the Ladybird Logo) for ISPs compliant with the IIA Codes. This Scheme has the support of most of the major ISPs in Australia. (see News Release).
